Watching all of the Olympics on TV brings back a lot of memories. Our team cleaned the carpets for the 1996 games in Atlanta. We were there almost 20 hours a day. We rarely saw our families during that 3 weeks. We were there when Kerri Strugg clinched the gold in gymnastics. We were charged with keeping everything looking good, whatever it took to do so. During many events we were waiting just off camera to tidy things up between events.
Who said that carpet and furniture cleaning can't be an exciting occupation? I have been able to be at the Olympics with al all access pass, had free run at Disney Theme Parks after hours, behind the scenes at NSASA, clean for 2 Major League Baseball players and movie stars. Many more opportunities as well. I know that many folks in our industry get opportunities to be many interesting places. Hey, almost everybody has carpet and furniture and they all want it cared for properly.
