Cleaning a modeller’s airbrush is an essential part of maintaining its longevity and performance. Regular cleaning ensures that paint residue and debris do not clog the nozzle and block the airflow, resulting in a smooth and flawless application of paint. To begin the cleaning process, dismantle the airbrush by removing the nozzle, needle, and back lever.

Using a clean cloth or paper towel, wipe away any excess paint from the external parts of the airbrush. Next, fill a small container with an appropriate airbrush cleaner or water, depending on the type of paint used.

Immerse the disassembled parts into the cleaning solution and let them soak for a few minutes. Meanwhile, gently brush the inside of the paint cup with a soft brush to remove any stubborn paint residue.

Once the parts have soaked adequately, remove them from the cleaning solution and rinse them thoroughly with water or airbrush cleaner. Inspect each part closely to ensure that no paint or debris remains.

Carefully reassemble the airbrush, ensuring that each part fits snugly and correctly. Finally, test the airbrush by spraying a small amount of airbrush cleaner or water through it to ensure it is working properly. Remember, regular cleaning will keep your modeller’s airbrush in excellent condition for all your painting projects. Happy airbrushing!
